Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science. 教案 教学目标:
1. 知识目标: 本课重点词汇:computer programmer, computer science, engineer, pilot, professional …. 本课主要句型:What are you going to be when you grow up? I’m going to be an engineer. How are you going to do that? I’m going to study math hard. 语法:用be going to表示一般将来时。

2. 能力目标:
培养学生应用英语谈论将来计划,提高学生听、说、读、写等能力。

3. 情感目标:
通过谈论将来打算做什么以及准备怎样实现目标,让学生考虑自己的将来,及早为将来做好准备。培养学生学习英语的强烈兴趣,乐于参加各种活动的积极情感,善于合作,培养学生团结协作精神。

教学重、难点:
重点是掌握本课 computer programmer, computer science, engineer, pilot, professional等重点词汇,What are you going to be when you grow up? I’m going to be an engineer. How are you going to do that? I’m going to study math hard.等重点句型和语法。用be going to表示一般将来时。

难点是一般将来时be going to 中be 的具体形式和后面接动词原形的用法, 而学生根据自己喜欢的职业,运用所学知识谈论自己打算怎样做来实现目标则既是难点,又是能力训练点。

课时安排:
Seven periods. The 7-1st period Teaching contents: Section A (1a-1c) Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Warming up 1. Ask students to think about ways they already know to talk about future intentions. For example: Where are you going next week? I’m going to my grandmother’s house next week. What are you doing on Saturday? I’m playing tennis all day. 2. Circle the “ing” in each sentence. Say, we use “ing” words to talk about things that are going to happen in future. We are sure these things will happen. 3. Ask the students what do they want to be when they grow up? Show them some jobs. Step 2 1a 1. Show 12 jobs to the class. Ask the students which job is most interesting? 2. Read these jobs and then rank them [1-12]. Step 3 1b 1. Listen to the tape. Students only listen. 2. Students fill in the blanks and then match the items. 3. Tell the students all jobs and they are all very important. 4. Check the answers. Step 4 1c 1. Ask students to practice the conversation in the picture. 2. Ask students to work in pairs and make their own conversations. 3. Read again. Homework 1. Remember the vocabularies. 2. Review the conversation. The 7-2nd period Teaching contents: Section A (2a-2d) Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Revision 1. Ask questions beginning with “What are you going to be when…” ; “How are you going to do?” 2. Practice the conversations using the target language students have already studied. Step 2 2a 1. Look at the picture and then listen. 2. Ask some students what they heard. 3. Students check the correct boxes in the picture. 4. Check the answers. Step 3 2b 1. Listen again. 2. Ask students to fill the chart. 3. Check the answers. Step 4 2c 1. Ask students to read the dialogue to the class. 2. Ask students to work in pairs, ask and answer, Step 5 2d 1. Read the conversation. 2. Ask the students play the conversation in pairs. Homework 1. Review the listening. 2. Read the conversation again. The 7-3rd period Teaching contents: Grammar Focus Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Revision Review the simple future tense: be going to. Step 2 3a 1. Match what these people want to do with what they are going to do. 2. Ask a student what is his or her answer. 3. Correct the answers. Step 3 3b 1. Fill in the blanks. 2. Read the conversation together. 3. Ask some students to role-play this dialogue to the class. Step 4 3c 1. Read the dialogue and then complete the chart. 2. Ask students discuss it with their partner. 3. Ask each group to present its conversation to the class. Homework 1. Review the target language. 2. Review the simple future tense: be going to. 3. Finish off the exercises on work book. The 7-4th period Teaching contents: Section B (1a-1e) Teaching Procedures: Step 1 1a 1. Look at the five pictures. 2. Ask the students to match the pictures with the New Year’s resolutions. 3. Correct the answers. Step 2 1b 1. Ask the students what they are going to do next year. 2. Read the conversation and then tell your partner. Step 3 1c 1. Listen to the tape. 2. Circle the resolutions you hear in 1a. Step 4 1d 1. Listen again. 2. Ask students discuss it with their partner. 3. Complete the chart. Step 4 1e 1. Read the dialogue. 2. Make a list of other resolutions and how you are going to make them work. 3. Ask students discuss it with their partner. Homework 1. Review the conversation. 2. Review the simple future tense: be going to. 3. Finish off the exercises on work book. The 7-5th period Teaching contents: Section B (2a-2e) Teaching Procedures: Step 1 2a Ask the students discuss in group of four by asking the questions like the following: Did you make any resolutions lat year? Were you able to keep them? Why or why not? Step 2 2b 1. Ask students to read quickly. 2. Ask students to explain the meaning of every paragraph in their own words. 3. Ask students to match them. 4. Check the answers. Step 3 2c 1. Read again. 2. Ask students to write the letters [A-D] in the correct places in the passage. 3. Check the answers. Step 4 2d 1. Ask students to answer the questions with short sentences one by one. 2. Check the answers. Step 5 2e 1. Ask the students to answer these sentences all by themselves. 2. Ask some students to answer them to the class. Homework 1. Revise this period. 2. Finish off the exercises on work book. The 7-6th period Teaching contents: Section B (3a-4) Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Revision Review the simple future: be going to. Step 3a 1. Complete the first two paragraphs with the students. 2. Read them together. Step 3 3b 1. Write the resolutions under the following headings. 2. Ask students to read their answers to the class. Step 4 3c 1. White resolutions. 2. Ask some students to read their resolutions. Step 5 4 1. Ask a student to read the instructions and the example answer for the class. 2. Ask Ss to work in groups and write the group plans. The 7-7th period Teaching contents: Self Check Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Match 1. Match the jobs with the school subjects. 2. Check the answers. Step 2 Fill in the blanks 1. Fill in the blanks. 2. Check the answers. 3. Read the conversation together. Step 3 Writing Write about your plans using the phrases of be going to do. Homework Review this Unit and preview next Unit.
